A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for parts of New York and Pennsylvania until 9 PM EDT on June 6, 2026, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The watch includes Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego, Sullivan, and Tioga counties in New York, as well as Bradford, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming counties in Pennsylvania.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch indicates that conditions may be favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms, which could produce damaging winds, large hail, and possibly tornadoes.

In case of severe weather, contact emergency services at 911. The NWS advises residents to stay informed through local authorities and emergency services. To prepare, secure loose outdoor objects and move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your building if a severe thunderstorm warning is issued.
