The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of two additional individuals in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in a Perinton apartment last month. The ongoing investigation into the tragic incident has led to new developments, highlighting the dedication of law enforcement in seeking justice.
The homicide took place in the early hours of May 27, 2026, at an apartment located on Route 31 in Perinton. The victim, 32-year-old Ezra John Nunez, was found with a gunshot wound around 1:45 a.m. The initial suspect, 35-year-old Tyree Ross-Simmons, was arrested later that day and charged with second-degree murder.
The Investigation Unfolds
Following Ross-Simmons’ arrest, investigators continued to gather and analyze evidence. Their diligent efforts revealed that Ross-Simmons did not act alone. Additionally, it was discovered that at least one individual had provided false information during initial interviews with law enforcement.

Both individuals have been charged with second-degree murder and first-degree robbery. They are currently being held in the Monroe County Jail pending their next court appearance.
The initial suspect, Ross-Simmons, remains in custody at the jail with a bail set at $30,000. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with law enforcement continuing to follow up on leads and gather evidence.
