Compared to the national average, New York’s gas prices are 4.16% higher. This places the state in line with the national average, neither significantly higher nor lower than most other regions.
For context, California continues to have the highest gas prices in the nation, averaging $5.175 per gallon. On the other end of the spectrum, Texas offers the cheapest gas, with an average price of $3.287 per gallon.
The price difference between gasoline and diesel remains notable. Nationally, diesel averages $4.578 per gallon, highlighting the ongoing premium for diesel fuel.
