Over the past week, gas prices in New York have seen a modest increase of 0.64%, rising from a low of $4.077 to a high of $4.138 over the last three weeks. Diesel prices, meanwhile, remain significantly higher than gasoline, with the national average sitting at $5.348 per gallon.
New York’s gas prices are in line with the national average, coming in at just 0.59% above the U.S. mean. This places the state among the many regions where fuel costs are relatively consistent with the rest of the country. For context, the most expensive gas in the U.S. can be found in California, where prices reach $5.495 per gallon, while the cheapest is in Texas, at $3.532 per gallon.
