The drop marks a second consecutive week of declining prices, with a 1.44% decrease from last week’s average of $4.103. Over the past month, prices have ranged from a low of $4.044 to a high of $4.138, with the current price representing the lowest point in this window.
While New York’s gas prices are slightly higher than the national average by 0.95%, they remain far below the highest prices in the country. California currently leads with the most expensive gas at $5.428 per gallon, while Texas offers the cheapest at $3.513.
Diesel prices nationwide average $5.257 per gallon. The data is sourced from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
