The NYPD is intensifying its search for a serial chain-snatcher who has allegedly targeted six women across Queens in a series of robberies. The crime spree began in late June and has continued into July, with incidents reported in multiple precincts. Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help bring the suspect to justice.

The first incident occurred on Wednesday, June 24 in the 113th Precinct. A 37-year-old woman was walking near the intersection of 111th Avenue and Merrick Boulevard in St. Albans when the suspect approached her from behind and forcibly removed her gold pendant. The victim sustained minor injuries, and the stolen property was valued at approximately $1,000.

Pattern of Attacks and Suspect Description

Just over an hour later, the suspect struck again at the intersection of Merrick Boulevard and Linden Boulevard. This time, a 65-year-old woman was the victim, losing two necklaces to the assailant. The suspect fled southbound on Merrick Boulevard toward 115th Avenue. The value of the stolen jewelry in this incident has not been determined.

The suspect continued his crime spree, moving north to the 103rd Precinct. A 61-year-old woman was walking to her vehicle near 89-12 164th St. in Jamaica when the suspect approached her from behind and snatched her necklace. The victim suffered minor injuries to her neck, and the stolen necklace was estimated to be worth $1,800.

Recent Incidents and Community Response

The robberies resumed on Friday, July 10 in the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst. A 62-year-old woman was walking near the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and 74th Street when the suspect snatched her necklace and fled. The stolen necklace was valued at $1,250.

The final two robberies took place in the 108th Precinct. On Saturday, July 18 a 29-year-old woman was walking past 69-09 Roosevelt Ave. in Woodside when the suspect grabbed her necklace and sprinted away. The stolen necklace was approximately $600. Two days later, on Monday, July 20 the suspect targeted a 17-year-old girl near the transit hub on Roosevelt Avenue at 61st Street in Woodside. The victim’s necklace and pendant were snatched, with the pendant valued at $400.

NYPD’s Appeal for Information

The NYPD has released surveillance images of the suspect, describing him as having a dark complexion with a slim build. During one of the robberies, he was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and red shorts and in another incident, a dark gray hoodie with dark gray shorts and black sneakers.

A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to the suspect’s arrest and indictment. Through July 19 the 110th Precinct has reported 223 robberies so far in 2026, an increase of 12.2% compared to the same point last year. The 108th Precinct has reported 106 robberies a slight increase of 1.9%. The 113th Precinct has seen a significant rise with 76 robberies a 38.2% increase. Meanwhile, the 103rd Precinct has reported a decline in robberies, with 171 reported so far in 2026, a 7.6% decrease.
